Provides one of northeast Iowa’s most challenging nine hole golf courses. The clubhouse offers the services of a professional golf pro, as well as food, drinks, and handicap accessible shower and restroom facilities. A putting green and practice area are located adjacent to the clubhouse. White Water Creek runs through the park and the shade trees along its banks shelter the finest picnic and camp sites in southwest Dubuque County. Picnic pavilions are available for rent. Accessible playground units and play fields are sure to attract children of all ages. Cross-country skiing on ungroomed trails is available during the winter months. One of the most scenic Mississippi River Pool 11 access points in Dubuque County. This area is located approximately 15 miles north off Dubuque County Road C9Y-the Great River Road.
A marina with slips for seasonal and daily rental is located in the park, and a boat ramp and daily vehicle and boat trailer parking is available. Picnic areas, rental picnic pavilion, electric and non-electric campsites and shower/restroom facilities attract visitors who enjoy spending time near the Mississippi. Complete boating access to Mississippi River Pool No. 12, which is located five miles south of Dubuque off Highway 52 South and the Great River Road. The well-lighted marina offers seasonal and daily slip rentals, a marine fuel dock, as well as short-term courtesy docks. The concession building offers food and drinks as well as accessible restroom/shower facilities, and bait. Picnic grounds and campsites include accessible playground units. A two lane boat ramp and daytime parking for vehicle and boat trailers is located at the North side of the park. In winter, this area is used as a river access point for ice fishing. Located six miles north of Dubuque, this river access area offers excellent picnic and camping facilities with accessible showers and restrooms. The boat ramp provides boater access to Mississippi River Pool No. 11. Marine fuel is available at the adjacent Hawkeye/Arrowhead Marina. Picnic shelters are available for rental and for those who want to fish in the winter, this area provides access to the backwaters of the Mississippi for ice fishing. This scenic, wooded site on the North Fork Maquoketa River is located about 5 miles north of Dyersville off Highway 136. This recreational area includes modern picnic, playground and camping facilities with accessible showers and restrooms. Softball fields and sand volleyball courts are located adjacent to the picnic areas. Picnic pavilions are available for rent. More than two miles of nature trail leads the hiker through the heavily forested portion of the park area, which is frequently used as a winter roosting site by Bald Eagles. A year round park attendant is in residence at this site. This park is closed for camping during the winter season. Offers 62 wooded acres along the meandering course of spring-fed Catfish Creek which is stocked with trout by the Iowa DNR each year. This park was named for the original settlers of the area. The park contains shaded picnic areas along the rocky creek banks, offering cool relief from summer’s heat. Complete picnic areas, a playground, and sports fields, in addition to modern camping sites with accessible shower and restroom facilities makes Swiss Valley a truly family-oriented recreation area. Picnic pavilions are available to rent. Winter camping, ice fishing for trout, and cross-country skiing round out the year. A year round Park Ranger is in residence at this site. The Swiss Valley Nature Preserve and Center is located one mile from the park and offers additional trout fishing, hiking, cross-country skiing on groomed trails, and a visitor center with interpretive displays.
