Join us for a non-scary hike! Walk the illuminated trail and meet some colorful characters at this family favorite event. Stop into the nature center before or after your hike for Halloween crafts, face painting, smores, and a Halloween movie. Hikes leave every 15 minutes and you must be pre-registered. The Iowa DOT presents the video “Landscapes that Shape Us: Mitigation Efforts for US 20.” This video tells the story of cultural resources discovered during the planning stages of the US 20 expansion and how government agencies, Native American tribes, historians, and archaeologists worked together to balance transportation needs while protecting the integrity of the land.
