Two Additional Cases in Dubuque County
Since 2 p.m. yesterday, the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) reported two additional positive cases of COVID-19 in Dubuque County, bringing the county total to 309 as of 6 a.m. today (Saturday). For the state, 303 additional cases were reported since 2 p.m. yesterday. Iowa now has a total of 16,795 positive cases.
Fifteen additional deaths were reported for Iowa since 5 p.m. yesterday, bringing the state total to 444. IDPH did not report any additional deaths for Dubuque County since yesterday’s update so the county total remains 16.
As of this morning, 123,654 Iowans have been tested, including 4,295 Dubuque County residents. Iowa has a positive test rate of 13.6 percent while Dubuque County is 7.2 percent. One in 23 Dubuque County residents have been tested and one in 26 Iowans have been tested.
As of 6 a.m. today, there are 36 long-term care facilities in Iowa with COVID-19 outbreaks (three or more positive cases among residents and staff). There is one long-term care facility outbreak in Dubuque County at Dubuque Specialty Care, which has 47 positive cases and 10 recovered cases. Statewide, there are 1,513 positive cases at long-term care facilities (up 11 from yesterday), with 616 recovered (up 36 from yesterday) and 223 deaths (up 12 from yesterday’s update).
No Additional Updates Until Monday
Due to planned maintenance on the Iowa Department of Public Health COVID-19 website from 6 a.m. today through 6 a.m. on Monday, May 25, the IDPH website will not reflect accurate COVID-19 statistics until 6 a.m. on Monday morning.
At the request of the IDPH, the Dubuque County Public Health Incident Management Team will not report Dubuque County case counts/updates for the remainder of this weekend because those counts would be unverified and may be inaccurate. Instead, we will wait until Monday morning to provide an accurate update of Dubuque County statistics. Thank you for your patience.
