Dubuque County Death and Eight More Cases

The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) has reported that a Dubuque County resident, an older adult (61-80 years), who tested positive for COVID-19 has died. This is the second COVID-19 death in Dubuque County.

“I extend my sincere sympathy to the family and friends of this person,” said Patrice Lambert, executive director of the Dubuque County Health Department. “These daily reports of new cases and deaths may seem like just reports with numbers, but they are not. They are people.  It’s important that we all remember that and never become numb to the impact COVID-19 is having on families and communities. We can all honor the memories of those lost by doing our part to limit the spread of the virus .”

The IDPH was notified of 349 additional positive cases of COVID-19 in Iowa, including an additional seven cases in Dubuque County. Iowa now has a total of 5,868 positive cases and Dubuque County has 87.  In addition to the death in Dubuque County, 8 more people with COVID-19 in Iowa have died, bringing the statewide total to 127.

Today’s report from IDPH states that 38,150 Iowans have been tested and 2,021 confirmed positive cases have recovered.  For additional information, visit:
