521 New Cases in Iowa, 10 More in Dubuque County
The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) was notified of 521 additional positive cases of COVID-19 in Iowa including 10 more in Dubuque County (6 adults, 1 middle-aged adult, and 3 older adults). Both are the highest one-day increases to date. Iowa now has a total of 4,445 positive cases and Dubuque County has 62. Eleven more people with COVID-19 in Iowa have died, another single-day high that brings the statewide total to 107.
There have been an additional 2,190 negative tests for a total of 27,528 negative tests to date. According to IDPH, 278 COVID-19 patients are currently hospitalized, and 1,604 Iowans have recovered. For additional details, visit https://coronavirus.iowa.gov/
Governor Signs New Emergency Declaration
Today, Gov. Reynolds signed a new proclamation continuing the State Public Health Emergency Declaration. The proclamation permits health care providers to begin the process of resuming some elective surgeries and procedures through a phased approach, permits farmers markets to begin limited operations with appropriate public health precautions, and provides other relief to Iowans affected by this disaster.
