[ARCHIVED] Heritage Trail Makes the List!

Travel Iowa highlights 10 of the top trails in the state.  Our very own Heritage Trail made the list.

It is one of the most scenic all-season trails in the Upper Midwest. It is 26 miles long and once was a bustling railroad that traversed through 450 foot deep valleys past old mining and milling towns. The railroad companies put in place over 30 bridges to traverse across the highly directed floodplain of the Little Maquoketa River. Passing through eight towns and spanning all of Dubuque County, the trail provides great places to stop, amazing scenery and great wildlife viewing.
