CDC recommends everyone ages 5 and older get a COVID-19 vaccine to help protect against COVID-19.
COVID boosters are recommended for:
- Teens 16-17 years old (Pfizer only, at least six months after completing primary Pfizer series)
- Adults 18 years and older (At least 6 months after completing primary Pfizer or Moderna series or 2 months after primary Johnson & Johnson vaccination)
COVID-19 vaccines are safe, effective, and free. Get answers to frequently asked questions and bust myths about vaccines.

Most local vaccination providers have Pfizer and Moderna. Supplies of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine are currently limited so residents seeking that vaccine/booster are encouraged to first check with their provider or the Dubuque Visiting Nurses Association.
