Vaccine Allocation Update
The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) has allocated 1,950 doses of vaccine to Dubuque County this week. The majority of this week's allocation will be administered to teachers and other school staff.
Dubuque County's community vaccination clinic at Kennedy Mall will be one of the sites for these vaccinations. School staff eligible for these vaccinations are being contacted by their employer to schedule appointments. These vaccines will be administered Thursday and Friday by staff from Grand River Medical Group and the Dubuque Visiting Nurses Association. UnityPoint Health Finley Hospital will use the site on Wednesday to vaccinate elderly patients before assisting with school staff vaccinations Thursday and Friday.
REMINDER: The community vaccination clinic is an appointment-only site and walk-ins are not accepted. Dubuque County approved vaccine providers will administer vaccines to residents at the clinic/POD and some will be administered at provider clinic sites as the POD ramps up during the first few weeks of limited vaccine allocations from the state. If residents’ primary care provider has received vaccine, the resident will be contacted by the provider to schedule a vaccine appointment as they work through the priority groups.
Individuals with questions about COVID-19 vaccine distribution can contact the Dubuque Visiting Nurses Association's COVID information line at 563.556.6200 or visit https://www.dubuquecountyiowa.gov/567/COVID-19-Vaccinations
