Gathering virtually or with the people you live with is the safest way to celebrate the Super Bowl this year. This year, choose a safer way to enjoy the game.

Host a virtual Super Bowl watch party.

  • Wear clothing or decorate your home with your favorite team’s logo or colors.
  • Make appetizers or snacks with the people you live with to enjoy while watching the game and share the recipes with your friends and family.
  • Start a text group with other fans to chat about the game while watching.

 Attend an outdoor viewing party where viewers can sit 6 feet apart.

  • Use a projector screen to broadcast the game.
  • Sit at least 6 feet away from people you don’t live with.

Governor Issues New Emergency Proclamation

Governor Reynolds issued a new emergency proclamation late yesterday that will lift the state's mask requirement effective tomorrow (Sunday, Feb. 7) along with the social distance and masking limitations she had in place for businesses and social gatherings.  

PLEASE NOTE: Dubuque County's mask requirement and the City of Dubuque's face covering ordinance both remain in effect.

POSITIVE CASES

Dubuque County:

  • 8 new cases.
  • Total confirmed cases to date = 11,945

Iowa:

  • 548 new cases.
  • Total confirmed cases to date = 323,871

ACTIVE CASES

  • Dubuque County: 837 active cases (48 less than yesterday)

DEATHS
Dubuque County:

  • 1 new death.
  • Total deaths related to COVID to date = 185 
  • Underlying Cause Deaths = 174, Contributing Factor Deaths = 11

Iowa:

  • 41 new deaths.
  • Total deaths related to COVID to date = 5,108
  • Underlying Cause Deaths = 4,618, Contributing Factor Deaths = 490

HOSPITALIZATIONS

  • Dubuque County Residents Hospitalized = 12 as of Feb. 3. (1 more than Feb. 2)
  • Iowans Currently Hospitalized = 336 (12 less than yesterday.) 

TESTING
Dubuque County:

  • 49 more individuals tested.
  • Total individuals tested to date = 51,899

Iowa:

  • 2,625 more individuals tested.
  • Total individuals tested to date = 1,491,721

PERCENT POSITIVE CASES
Dubuque County:

  • Past 14-day average = 7.3%
  • Past 7-day average = 4.4%

Iowa:

  • Past 14-day average = 8.9%
  • Past 7-day average = 6.6%

RECOVERIES 
Dubuque County:

  • New recoveries = 55 
  • Total number of recoveries = 10,923

Iowa:

  • New recoveries = 1,556 
  • Total number of recoveries = 293,071

LONG-TERM CARE FACILITY OUTBREAKS
Dubuque County:
 1 long-term care facility outbreak (same as yesterday):

  • Stonehill Care Center, Dubuque (70 current positive cases, 6 in the last 14 days, and 45 recoveries)

Iowa:
 44 long-term care facility outbreaks (1 more than yesterday) with 1,383 current positive cases (residents and staff), 906 recoveries (residents and staff), and 2,092 resident deaths from all Iowa LTC facilities to date.
