Governor Reynolds Issues New Public Health Dis aster Proclamation; 26 New Cases in Dubuque County, 1,477 New Cases and 18 Deaths Statewide
Governor Reynolds Issues New Public Health Disaster Proclamation
Governor Reynolds issued a new emergency proclamation today with additional measures to help limit the community spread of COVID-19 in Iowa. The proclamation strongly encourages all Iowans two or older to wear a mask or other face covering when in public settings, especially in circumstances when it is not possible to remain six feet away from others outside their household, unless it is unsafe to do so because of health or disability.
Citing significant increases in the number of new COVID-19 cases among young adults, especially 19-24 year olds, Reynolds also announced that, effective 5 p.m. today, bars, taverns, breweries, and nightclubs will be closed in six Iowa counties: Black Hawk, Dallas, Johnson, Linn, Polk, and Story until Sept. 20.
These new public health measures remain in effect until September 20, 2020. Read the full announcement at: https://governor.iowa.gov/press-release/gov-reynolds-signs-new-proclamation-continuing-the-state-public-health-emergency-7
