’COVID-19 in Iowa’ Site Adds New Analyses

The Iowa Department of Public Health’s (IDPH) COVID-19 in Iowa dashboard now features two additional "Outcomes Analysis" dashboards, one for deaths and one for recoveries.  

Both the Outcomes Analysis (Deaths) and Outcomes Analysis (Recovered) dashboards provide analysis by age group, sex, ethnicity, race, and pre-existing condition.

Nine New Cases in Dubuque County, 440 New Cases and Two More Deaths in Iowa

Positive Cases
Between 2 p.m. yesterday and 2 p.m. today, the IDPH reported nine new positive cases of COVID-19 in Dubuque County, increasing the county total to 405. For the state, 440 additional cases were reported in that same time frame giving Iowa a total of 25,245 positive cases.

Deaths
 No additional deaths were reported in Dubuque County so the county total remains at 22. Two additional deaths were reported statewide increasing the state death total at 681.

Testing
As of 2 p.m. today, the IDPH website reported that 7,338 Dubuque County residents have been tested, up 152 from yesterday, with a positive test rate of 5.5 percent. 246,760 Iowans have been tested, an increase of 6,103 since yesterday, for a positive test rate of 10.2 percent. One in 13 Dubuque County residents have been tested and one in 13 Iowa residents.

Long-Term Care Facility Outbreaks
According to the IDPH, as of 2 p.m. today there are 32 long-term care facilities in Iowa with COVID-19 outbreaks, two fewer than yesterday. There is one long-term care facility outbreak in Dubuque County at Dubuque Specialty Care, which has 51 positive cases and 22 recovered cases (one more recovery than yesterday). Statewide, IDPH is reporting 955 positive cases at long-term care facilities (220 fewer than reported yesterday), 542 recovered (158 fewer than reported yesterday), and 354 deaths (three more than yesterday)The number of cases and recovered include both residents and staff.

Hospitalizations & Recoveries
As of today, 197 Iowans were hospitalized due to COVID-19, 21 more than than yesterday. The number of Dubuque County residents hospitalized is zero, the same as yesterday. Statewide, 15,781 Iowans have recovered (up 225 from yesterday), including 235 Dubuque County residents (three more than yesterday).
