Three New Cases in Dubuque County, 236 New Cases and Eight More Deaths in Iowa

Positive Cases
Between 2 p.m. yesterday and 2 p.m. today, the IDPH reported three new positive cases of COVID-19 in Dubuque County, increasing the county total to 393. For the state, 236 additional cases were reported in that same time frame giving Iowa a total of 24,403 positive cases.

Deaths
No additional deaths were reported in Dubuque County so the county total remains at 22. Eight additional deaths were reported statewide increasing the state death total at 672.

Testing
As of 2 p.m. today, the IDPH website reported that 7,065 Dubuque County residents have been tested, up 160 from yesterday, with a positive test rate of 5.6 percent. 235,492 Iowans have been tested, an increase of 5,225 since yesterday, for a positive test rate of 10.4 percent. One in 14 Dubuque County residents have been tested and one in 13 Iowa residents.

Long-Term Care Facility Outbreaks
According to the IDPH, as of 2 p.m. today there are 35 long-term care facilities in Iowa with COVID-19 outbreaks, the same as yesterday. There is one long-term care facility outbreak in Dubuque County at Dubuque Specialty Care, which has 51 positive cases and 21 recovered cases (no change from yesterday). Statewide, IDPH is reporting 1,196 positive cases at long-term care facilities (30 fewer than reported yesterday), 721 recovered (six more than reported yesterday), and 350 deaths (four more than yesterday)The number of cases and recovered include both residents and staff.

Hospitalizations & Recoveries
As of today, 188 Iowans were hospitalized due to COVID-19, five fewer than yesterday. The number of Dubuque County residents hospitalized is one, one less than yesterday. Statewide, 15,218 Iowans have recovered (up 320 from yesterday), including 230 Dubuque County residents (no change from yesterday).
