Three New Cases in Dubuque County, 381 New Cases and Nine More Deaths in Iowa

Three New Cases in Dubuque County, 381 New Cases and Nine More Deaths in Iowa

Positive Cases
Between 2 p.m. yesterday and 2 p.m. today, the IDPH reported three new positive cases of COVID-19 in Dubuque County, increasing the county total to 375. For the state, 381 additional cases were reported in that same time frame giving Iowa a total of 22,897 positive cases.

Deaths
No additional deaths were reported in Dubuque County so the county total remains at 21. Nine additional deaths were reported statewide increasing the state death total at 639.

Testing
As of 2 p.m. today, the IDPH website reported that 6,551 Dubuque County residents have been tested, up 91 from yesterday, with a positive test rate of 5.7 percent. 208,384 Iowans have been tested, an increase of 5,157 since yesterday, for a positive test rate of 11 percent. One in 15 Dubuque County residents have been tested and one in 15 Iowa residents.

Long-Term Care Facility Outbreaks
According to the IDPH, as of 2 p.m. today there are 37 long-term care facilities in Iowa with COVID-19 outbreaks, one less than yesterday. There is one long-term care facility outbreak in Dubuque County at Dubuque Specialty Care, which has 50 positive cases and 14 recovered cases. Statewide, IDPH is reporting 1,389 positive cases at long-term care facilities (69 fewer than reported yesterday), 819 recovered (13 more than reported yesterday), and 313 deaths (two more than reported yesterday)The number of cases and recovered include both residents and staff.

Hospitalizations & Recoveries
As of today, 242 Iowans were hospitalized due to COVID-19, three fewer than yesterday. The number of Dubuque County residents hospitalized is three, two less than yesterday. Statewide, 13,933 Iowans have recovered (up 305 from yesterday), including 216 Dubuque County residents (three more than yesterday).
