Roads Notification – Countywide Gravel Roads

Start: March 11, 2019

“The Dubuque County Secondary Roads Department wishes to notify the public, that with the spring thaw, gravel roads will be very soft and possibly impassable due to recent rain and snow melt. Those that have to haul heavy or repetitive loads are asked to alternate routes or haul when the roads are frozen until they have a chance to heal up. The Secondary Roads Department will be out repairing deteriorated sections of road as much as possible but will be limited to hours of the day when the ground is frozen. Normal blading and rock application will not begin until the roads have a chance to dry out.”

– Anthony Bardgett, P.E., Dubuque County Engineer
