Bluebird Workshop
The bluebird workshop is an annual program educating the public on bluebird habitat and providing materials for bluebird nesting boxes. Dubuque County Conservation Society sponsors the event and provides the building materials for the nesting boxes. This event is free and open to all ages, please call to preregister.

Easter Egg Dying
The entire family is invited to the natural easter egg dying program. Bring hard boiled eggs to the third annual easter egg program. We will learn how to collect, freeze and use the dye...this is great fun, please call with questions.

Frog and Toad Program
Tis the season for chirping birds, spring fever, and calling frogs. Come to the Swiss Valley Nature Center on Sunday April 11th for an informative program on frogs and toads of Iowa. You will learn their calls, places to hear the singing amphibians, and how to identify them by sight.

River Clean-up and Waterfowl Watch
Join your friends for a morning of waterfowl and waste clean-up. Meet at Mud Lake Park at 8 am for a little bird watcing then beautify the riverfront. Afterwards, folks will travel to Finley's Landing to spruce up the river front. This program is sponsored by Living Lands and Water 'Adopt a River Mile' thanks to our DCCB Friends group. Pheasants Forever, Iowa DNR and Dubuque County Conservation are proud to bring you the 3rd BOW workshop. This event is for women 18 years old and over. 2010 Capture Dubuque Photo Contest
The 2009 'Capture Dubuque' Photo Contest came to a close on December 11th of 2009. The winners for each category can be seen below.
The Adult and Junior catagories for this years event are: Wildlife, People in Nature, Plants, and Vistas. Rules for the contest are printed below. Be sure to take pictures ALL year long and remember to turn them in by December 10th, 2010. Thank you to our sponsors!!!!

Rules:
1. Photos must be taken in Dubuque County Areas. (Bankston Park, Fillmore, Finley's Landing, Graf Park, Heritage Trail, Heritage Pond, IPC Forest Preserve, Little Maqueketa River Mounds,Massey Marina, Mud Lake, New Wine Park, Pohlman Prairie, Ringneck Ridge, Swiss Valley, Whitewater Canyon) Write your name, phone, and location photo was taken on the back of the photo.
2. No more than two entries per category per person, postmarked by December 11th, 2009.
3. Photos must be 8X10, do not matte or mount photo.
4. Pictures will not be returned unless accompanied by self-addressed, stamped envelope.
5. Members and employees of DCCB, the judging team, and their immediate families will not be eligible for this contest.
6. Individuals whose main source of income is photography are not eligible for this contest.
7. The DCCB reserves the right to display photos in public areas, newsletters, or any other publications.
8. Each photo must be accompanied by a seperate, completed entry form, copies of the form are acceptable.
9. The DCCB reserves the right to make any and all decisions regarding interpretation of rules.
